How to create and manage a department?

In an organization, a department is a distinct functional or operational unit that is responsible for carrying out specific tasks, functions, or activities within the overall structure of the organization. Departments are typically organized based on the specialization of functions and the need for efficient and coordinated efforts to achieve the organization's goals and objectives.

Departments can include:

  1. Sales

  2. Marketing

  3. Leadership

  4. Engineering

  5. Operations

  6. Product

  7. Human resources

  8. Customer success

  9. Finance etc.

In this article, we will cover how you can best use the department feature on Multiplier.

Super admins and admins can create, edit, and delete a department with the HRIS module on the Multiplier platform.

Creation of a new department

Follow these simple steps to create a new department:

Step 1: In Team View click on the ‘Settings’ module on the left sidebar.

1.1) Click on ‘Company Structure’.

1.2) Click on ‘Departments’.

1.3) Click on “Create a New Department”.

Step 2: Add a department name and a note describing the department. Adding this note is optional.

2.1) Next assign a department head and click on ‘Assign’.

Step 3: To process click on ‘Submit’

Step 4: At this stage, you can add employees to the department you have just created.

Alternatively, you can even add employees later on.
