Offboarding is the formal separation of an employee and a company through resignation, termination, or even retirement.

To offboard an employee or freelancer on the Multiplier platform, follow the below steps:

Step 1: Click on ‘Team’ on the left sidebar.

Step 2: Navigate to the ‘Active’ tab and select the employee who must be offboarded.

Step 3: Click on ‘Offboard Employee/Freelancer’ in the top right corner.

Step 4: Select the reason for offboarding among the 3 options and click on ‘Continue’.

  1. Resignation - When an employee officially resigns from the job

  2. Termination - When the employee is being terminated by you

  3. Did not join - When an employee has accepted the offer letter & has been activated on Multiplier but does not join the company. This option will only be available 7 days from the employee's start date on the platform.

Note that the next steps will vary depending on the reason for offboarding. For a step-by-step guide on each reason, click on the appropriate link from below:

Resignation:

Step 5: For resignation, select the desired last working day and upload supporting documents. For instance, an intimation of resignation by the employee, to the manager via email or internal software/tool.

Note - Our team will review the desired last working day in accordance with local labor law compliance and get back to you in case the last working day needs to be changed.

5.1 You must acknowledge that the last working day has been discussed with the employee.

5.2 Click on ‘Continue’.

Step 6: You must acknowledge that you will pay the employee for their unused leaves as required by law.

You must also acknowledge to add & approve any expenses and pay supplements before the employee’s last working day.

The next steps in the offboarding process are as follows:

  1. Confirmation on the last working day to comply with labour laws

Multiplier will validate the supporting documents & the feasibility of the last working day. If the desired last working day does not comply with the country’s labour laws, we may need to adjust the date accordingly. Our team will get in touch with you to finalize the new date.

  2. Email notification on employee’s last working day

Once the last working day has been finalized with common consent between the company admin and Multiplier, we will send an email to the employee confirming the last working date and the next steps in the offboarding process.

  3. Full and final settlement (payment) process

Multiplier will process the full and final settlement to the employee within 30 days after the last working day.

  4. Exit documents shared via email and dashboard

Multiplier will send all the relevant exit documents to the employee via email. These documents will also be available for download on the employee’s Multiplier platform.
