We’ve introduced a simplified resignation process for EOR employees. Now, employees in select countries can submit their resignations directly through the Multiplier platform. You can view the complete list of eligible countries here.

This article will guide company admins on how to accept member initiated resignation, modify LWD and handle notice period shortfall pay.

Scenario 1 - When desired Last Working Day (LWD) does not comply with the employment contract and admin does not want to modify the LWD

When an employee requests early relieving, the admin will receive an email to acknowledge and accept the desired LWD.

Step 1: You will receive a resignation request initiation email in your mailbox. Once you acknowledge it, you will be redirected to the employee profile on the platform. Click on ‘Acknowledge and accept resignation.’

Step 2: Select one of the following options:

  • Employee need not pay any amount

  • Employee needs to pay notice pay amount in lieu

  • Company will pay the notice pay amount in lieu

Step 2.1: If you choose for the employee to pay notice pay amount in lieu, then select the number of days’ pay that needs to be paid in lieu and click on ‘Continue’

Step 3: Resignation acknowledgement is now completed. The employee will now receive the resignation letter which will contain information about the notice shortfall and notice amount pay.

Scenario 2 - When desired Last Working Day (LWD) does not comply with the employment contract and admin wants to modify the LWD

Step 1: If you decide to modify the LWD before accepting the resignation, click on “Modify LWD and acknowledge resignation”

Step 2: Inform the employee about modifying the LWD. Once done, check the box and click on “Continue”

Step 3: Select the new “proposed LWD”. If your proposed LWD is earlier than the contractual LWD, you will have to select one of the 3 options for notice period shortfall pay:

  1. Employee need not pay any amount

  2. Employee needs to pay notice pay amount in lieu

  3. Company will pay the notice pay amount in lieu

Step 4: If you select option 2, next you will need to enter the amount in lieu the employee must pay. Then click on ‘Modify LWD & acknowledge resignation’

Scenario 3 - When the desired Last Working Day (LWD) complies with the employment contract

In this scenario since the requested LWD complies with the contract, no company admin’s acknowledgment is needed—just the employee's signature on the resignation letter is sufficient. The employer will however, receive a confirmation email informing them of the resignation request and the completion of the signature process.

Step 1: In the navigation bar, click on “Team > Offboarding”. Click on the employee name which says “Off-boarding initiated”

On the employee profile, you will be able to see the status of the off-boarding, and also view the resignation document that has been signed by the employee.
