Granting new leave for a set of employees involves the following steps:

Creation of Leave type

To create a new leave type, you can go through the below steps:

Step 1 - Navigate to Settings -> Company Policies.

Step 2 - Select Time off policies

Step 3 - Click on Create New at the top right and select New Leave type. Leave types can be anything based on the different types you have for your organization.

Fill in the details for the leave type:

  • Leave type name: Enter the name of the leave type (e.g., mental wellness leave).

  • Payment options: Select whether it is a paid or unpaid leave.

  • Description: Optionally, add details explaining the leave.

  • Once all details are added, click on Confirm.

This way you'll have successfully created a new leave type that your employees can use.

Assignment of Leave policy: For effective usage of leave policies, a said policy needs to be assigned to a group of employees or all employees (however you may see fit).

For example, you may create different maternity leave policies to adhere to the country norms where your employees are based. In such a case, a maternity leave policy should be assigned to the corresponding country where it's applicable.

Only after a leave policy is assigned, the same is visible for employees to use. Please click here to see how you can assign a leave policy to employees.
