Automatic Debit

Setup and Payments

I haven't received an email to sign the ACH agreement. Where should I check?

If you have not received the ACH agreement from Multiplier, be sure to check your spam folder. If you still don’t see it, kindly reach out to your dedicated CSM.

Why did my ACH Direct Debit setup fail?

There could be a few reasons why your ACH Direct Debit setup has failed:

  • Your Account number or Routing number was incorrectly added

  • Your bank has rejected the setup transaction

In either case, our team will reach out to you for the next steps, or you can also write to us at support@usemultiplier.com for any queries that you may have.

How much time does it take to enable ACH Direct Debit for payments?

To enable ACH Direct Debit for your business, there are two steps:

  • Direct Debit Setup: The setup can be done from your ‘Settings’ option by following a few simple steps. An agreement will be sent once all the relevant documents have been uploaded and details confirmed. Once the client signs, our team will verify the same and validate whether any Debit Blocks that prevent direct debits from happening are present by submitting a zero-dollar payment request.

The timeline here will depend on when the client signs the agreement + 2-3 business days for a zero-dollar payment request.

  • Direct Debit Payments: Once the setup is complete, you can initiate payments from the ‘Invoice Payments’ module.

The timeline here is 3-5 business days for funds settlement and payment reconciliation.

What are the ACH IDs for Multiplier?

The ACH IDs for Multiplier are 5766440401 and 2872355271.

How long does it take for the invoices to be marked as paid once I have initiated the payment?

Once the direct debit setup is complete, you must initiate direct debit payments from the ‘Invoice Payments’ module on the platform.

The timeline is 3-5 business days for funds settlement and payment reconciliation.

What should I do when the payment fails after initiating the payment via Direct Debit?

If the payment fails, contact your CSM or drop us an email at support@usemultiplier.com.

Why can’t I see Direct Debit as a payment method?

ACH Direct Debit only supports if your bank account is in the United States and your billing currency is USD. If your bank is outside the United States, it is likely that you will not see the setup option.

Additionally, our network covers most major banks. But if you don't see your bank, please reach out to support@usemultiplier.com.

Automatic Debit

Does Multiplier support automatic direct debits?

Yes, we currently support ACH automatic direct debits in the US. We will soon be launching direct debit in other regions too.

What are the timelines for automatic debit?

  1. Email notification: You will be notified about the upcoming scheduled automatic debit 5 days before the invoice due date.

  2. Actual debit: Multiplier will initiate a direct debit from your signed bank account 2 days before the invoice due date.

When can I disable automatic debit?

You can disable the automatic debit option anytime in the month. Once done, it will apply to any future pending invoices, i.e, while disabling automatic debit, if there are any invoices in the ‘Processing’ stage, those invoices will continue to be debited.

Is automatic debit enabled for all invoice payments?

Yes, once you have set up the ACH Direct Debit payment method, all invoice payments will be automated, provided the invoice follows the default payment terms of 7 days.

How to cancel invoices which are scheduled for automatic debits?

You cannot cancel invoices scheduled for automatic debits. If you have any questions related to invoice details like amount or fees, you can raise a query, which will pause automatic debit for that particular invoice. Learn more here.

Why was the invoice payment not automatically debited?

There could be multiple reasons why invoice payments are not auto-debited:

  1. The invoices are created ad-hoc with payment terms less than the standard payment terms of 7 days. This will ensure that payments will not be initiated automatically without an email notification of upcoming direct debits. In such cases, you can initiate payments from the platform.

  2. You may have placed a debit block in your bank account. In this case, once you remove the block, auto-debit will start working.
