As an employee based out of the Philippines, you could be on an hourly/monthly/annual compensation structure.
Hourly compensation
If you are on an hourly salary structure, you are required to fill & submit timesheets for approval either on a semi-monthly or monthly basis, depending on your payroll frequency.
An approved timesheet from your employer will enable Multiplier to calculate your salary based on your hourly rate and the no. of hours you have worked.
Follow the below steps to fill, save & submit a timesheet for approval in an hourly compensation structure.
Step 1:
Click on “Timesheets” under the “Administration” section on the sidebar.
Step 2:
Click on the timesheet with the status “Open” to save hours worked & submit your timesheet for the upcoming pay cycle.
Note -
2.1) The timesheet for your current payroll cycle gets created automatically. Hence, you are not required to create a timesheet manually.
For example:
If you are paid on a semi-monthly basis, your timesheet gets auto-created on the 1st & 16th of every month. On the 1st of the month, a timesheet for the period 1-15th will be created, and you could submit it for approval on the 15th.
Step 3:
Click on the “+” symbol on the relevant date of the month where you want to update & save hours worked.
Note -
3.1) Future dates will be locked and cannot be filled beforehand.
3.2) You will notice 2 icons on certain dates in the calendar. The icons indicate that the particular day is either a Rest Day or a Regular Holiday/ Special Holiday.
Umbrella icon - Rest Day
Calendar icon - Special or Regular Holiday
Also, note that if you have previously filled the timesheet on the platform for the current payroll period, the no. of hours will be auto-saved on your current timesheet as regular hours. However, you can edit & update the information if needed.
Step 4:
To select the Day Type, click on the dropdown on the right side of the date. The applicable Day Types are as follows:
Working Day
Rest Day
Regular Holiday
Special Holiday
Regular holiday falling on Rest Day
Special Holiday falling on Rest Day
Note -
The default Day Type will depend on the day you are filling the timesheet. However, you can change the Day Type as applicable.
For example:
If you are filling a timesheet on the 25th of December 2022, the Day Type will default appear as a Regular Holiday. If the 25th falls on a Sunday, by default, the Day Type will appear as Regular Holiday on Rest Day. However, you can change the Day Type to Working Day if your employer pays you the same rate on the 25th of December.
When a Regular Holiday falls on your Rest Day, the Day Type will be auto-selected based on your holiday calendar.
When a Special Holiday falls on your Rest Day, the Day Type will be auto-selected based on your holiday calendar.
If you have worked on a holiday, the dropdown will be auto-selected as a rest day or regular or special holiday, or a combination of these. However, if your employer doesn't pay differently for working on these holidays, you can toggle them off to record your hours as a regular working day.
Step 5:
Enter the hours worked, excluding the break hours, as shown in the below image.
Step 6:
If you have worked overtime, enable the toggle as shown below and enter the total overtime hours worked, and click on ‘Update’.
Overtime pay refers to the additional compensation for work performed beyond eight (8) hours a day.
For example:
If your Regular Working Time is from 10 am - 7 pm, and you have worked from 10 am - 9 pm on a particular day, you can enter 2 hours overtime along with your regular 8 hours.
Step 7:
If you have worked overtime on the night shift, click on the checkbox as shown in the image and enter the night shift overtime hours worked, and click on ‘Update’.
For example:
If your Regular Working Time is from 10 am - 7 pm and on a particular day you are required to work from 10 am - 12 am (midnight), you can enter your hours worked as follows:
10 am - 7 pm (Regular hours): 8 hours
7 pm - 12 am (Total Overtime hours): 5 hours
10 pm - 12 am (Overtime in Night Shift hours): 2 hours
Generally, overtime in night shift hours is applicable from 10 pm - 6 am. However, there could be exceptions to this scenario.
Note -
Overtime in Night Shift does not apply when you choose to work in the night shift to cover up for your lost hours during the day.
Step 8:
If you have worked Regular Hours with Night Shift Differential, enable the second toggle, enter the hours worked, and click on ‘Update’.
Regular hours with night shift differential apply when you are required to work in the night shift temporarily either for a couple of hours or your entire shift.
For example:
8.1) If your Regular Working Time is from 10 am - 7 pm and on a particular day(s) you are required to work from 10 pm - 7 am, you can enter your Regular Hours with Night Shift Differential as 8 hours. In this case, you need not fill regular hours at all.

Step 9:
Once the hours worked have been updated, click on ‘Save’ on the top right corner of the calendar.
9.1) You can find an overview of the updated timesheet right above the calendar. The ‘Total Days Worked’ and ‘Total Hours Worked’ will be auto-updated as & when you fill your timesheet. You can also view the total hours worked by week under ‘This Week’.
9.2) To view a day-wise report, just hover over the date and you will see the summary as shown below.
Step 10:
Click on ‘View Report’ to view the summary of Regular Hours, Overtime Hours, Overtime in Night Hours, and Night Shift Hours based on Day Types.
Find the report of the hours updated & saved so far. If you’d like to make any edits to your timesheets based on the report, you can close the report & click on the edit button on the calendar view.
10.1) Navigate to the date you want to make changes and click on the edit icon, as shown below. Now make the necessary changes where needed, ‘Update’ and ‘Save’ the timesheet.

Rest Day
Regular Holiday
Special Holiday
Regular Holiday falling on Rest Day
Special Holiday falling on Rest Day
Note -
The default Day Type will depend on the day you are filling the timesheet. However, you can change the Day Type as applicable.
For example:
If you are filling a timesheet on the 25th of December 2022, the Day Type will default appear as Regular Holiday. If the 25th falls on a Sunday, the Day Type will default appear as Regular Holiday on Rest Day.
Step 5:
Your default work hours will appear as 8 hours, excluding 1 hour of break as mandated by law in the Philippines.
Step 6:
If you have logged in late on a particular day as per your Regular Working Time, click on the checkbox as shown in the image and enter the late hours. Note that your Regular Hours will automatically be deducted when you enter your late hours.
For example:
If your Regular Working Time is from 10 am to 7 pm every day, but you started late on a particular day, let’s say at 11 am and worked till 7 pm, you are required to mark 1 hour as late hours and your regular hours will automatically be updated as 7 hours:
(8 Regular Hours - 1 Late Hour = 7 Regular Hours).
However, if you started at 11 am and worked till 8 pm, you can leave the default 8 hours of Regular Hours untouched and avoid marking late hours as you have made up for the lost hours.
Note -
Late hours do not apply to Rest Days or other holidays. If you work on a Rest Day, enter the hours worked as Regular hours, Overtime hours, or Overtime in night shift hours as applicable.
Step 7:
